Reports indicate that beloved actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
The actors are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. It is believed their roles will probably be featured in a future-set scene, as the main film series concluded with their characters living in peace.

Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who was behind the majority of the previous films in the series.
The film's narrative are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.
