Heavy rains over the last seven days have worsened the already dire living conditions of the many hundreds of thousands of evacuated residents in the territory, as stated by relief organizations.
A official detailed the recent storm as "horrendous", with precipitation so severe that around 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the ground.
"These conditions was truly difficult for the people. The heavy rains were so powerful... And the gusts were so powerful," stated the spokesperson.
Authorities voice significant concern that minors living in temporary structures in soaked attire will contract hypothermia and additional ailments.
Health authorities have reported that one baby has succumbed from hypothermia and no fewer than 11 other people have died in structural failures triggered by the severe weather.
Further statements indicate a greater number of casualties. Officials reported that several homes had fully given way and scores had sustained partial collapse.
Agencies have increased distribution of tents, warm covers and clothing after the truce began, but they stress there is still not enough aid getting in.
"Officials are operating tirelessly to bring in that aid and to distribute it, but the size of the requirements is so immense that we are faced with a great number of families and minors who are truly suffering each evening," warned one official.
The second phase of the ceasefire includes proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the removal of military forces, and other terms.
Aid bodies have stressed the imperative for "expanded and ongoing humanitarian assistance to address urgent and ongoing requirements."
The conflict was initiated by an attack in the autumn of 2023. Subsequent actions have caused a substantial number of fatalities in the area, as per health ministry figures.
