Analysis has found that nearly 90 flights associated to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein allegedly arrived at and departed from British airfields, with some reportedly carrying women from the UK who allege they were victimized by the found guilty sex offender.
These aviation records were part of thousands of court documents and papers released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the previous twelve months. The investigation found 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein – featuring many that were not previously known – landing or taking off from British airfields between the early 1990s and 2018.
Unnamed women were listed among the individuals travelling into and out of the UK. Crucially, 15 of these British airport journeys occurred after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring prostitution from a child.
“This is ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his activities in the country,” stated American attorneys acting for hundreds of Epstein victims.
Testimony from one of the UK-based survivors helped convict Epstein’s accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. Yet, that survivor has not received any contact by police in the UK, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the Metropolitan police stated they had “not been provided with any further evidence that would support restarting the investigation.” They commented, “If fresh and pertinent evidence be brought to our attention, encompassing any arising from the disclosure of material in the US, we will evaluate it.”
Proposed legislation to release every document held by the US government in concerning Epstein was approved by the House and Senate last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to follow through. Hundreds of thousands of files are anticipated to be made public.
Additionally, a federal judge ruled last week that the DOJ could disclose investigative materials from a trafficking prosecution against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
