President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Guard Soldiers to White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the White House.

He added that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Tragic Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, informed the media. “She was caring, caring and always eager to assist people.”

Service details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event led the administration to pause asylum applications and halt granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed a news show that she aimed to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
