The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation for the first time. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to draw people in with compelling titles on its premier subscription.

The Available Now Titles

The duo of games currently accessible at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Come mid-January, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of horror and action."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Well-Rounded Collection

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — which makes them perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
